2009 Pressure Vessel and Piping Medal

On July 29, 2009, Dr. Charles Becht IV, President of Becht Engineering Co. Inc., was awarded the prestigious Pressure Vessel and Piping Medal at the PVP conference in Prague. This medal is awarded annually to an individual to recognize his or her outstanding contributions in the field of pressure vessel and piping technology, including but not limited to research, development, teaching, and significant advancements of the state-of-the art. As a recognized authority in pressure vessels, piping, expansion joins and elevated temperature design, and serving on numerous ASME committees, Dr. Becht is the embodiment of what the medal has signified since being established in 1980. Joining the ranks of 28 esteemed colleagues to have had this honor bestowed upon them Dr. Becht continues to use his expertise and influence to benefit the Pressure Vessel and Piping industry. Dr. Becht is an ASME Fellow, recipient of the ASME Dedicated Service Award in 2001, a member or Chair of ten ASME and ASTM committees, including Chairman of the ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code Committee; has over 60 publications and six patents and is frequently sought after to speak and chair technical forums.

Dr. Becht’s family was present in Prague to bear witness to this top honor. This award is truly a crown jewel in Dr. Becht’s esteemed career. His family and the entire team at Becht Engineering are proud and honored that his achievements in the field have not gone without recognition.
